Back to School
Welcome Back!
I love this time of year! Fresh clean classrooms, new clothes, new supplies, and seeing students!
This year's theme is "Rock your Reading!" Let's get down to the beat and read for fun, learning, and to function well in this preppy world we live in. Let's have fun by celebrating the gift of music by reading about musical artists, learning about all kinds of instruments and navigating your way to downloading new songs. What is your favorite? Rock, Country, Jazz, Blues, Rap, Hip Hop, or Easy Listening? Let's share our love of music together this year!
I just can't wait to see you soon!
Newport Beach Public Library
Libraries are not absolute just because of the electronic device explosion! They are equipped to handle all kinds of devices and foster the love of reading via technology.
For instance:
The Newport Beach Public Library has many eBooks! I encourage you to go check that out!!

Book Damage
Students are taught to choose books that are a good fit for their age and reading level. We teach them proper book etiquette and to be responsible for the books they borrow from the school library. In addition, we teach students to be book inspectors to prevent any student from taking home a damaged book. The rule is that they show and tell us immediately so that the book can be repaired or replaced.
Occasionally, we will get a student who turns in a damaged book and claims they didn't do anything to the book. We often hear, "It was like that when I checked it out." Going back to the rule, students need to return the damaged book immediately after finding the damage. They should not wait until their next classroom library visit.
If you have any questions or concerns about books, please feel free to contact the library.
***Quick Note
To help stop the spread of germs and decreasing illnesses, please use disinfectant wipes to clean library books your child(ren) brings home. You may use antibacterial wipes or spray a paper towel with disinfectant then wipe down both covers of the books.
Thank you!
We clean books everyday, but with your help, we can limit the amount of shared germs.
